”Tinatin” Gallery of synthesized Teka
Tina Kldiashvili’s Gallery of synthesized Teka «Tinatin». Gallery “Tinatin” is unique in its way, which actively works in the sphere of modernization of traditional types of textile, and namely of primordially Georgian textile “Teka” (fine-fleeced thick felt of artistic embossing). Gallery’s object is to keep and develop cultural traditions of people’s trade in the sphere of textile, to carry out new conceptual projects such as “Teka – alternative to fur”. The founder of the gallery and author of presented works is assistant professor of Academy of Art of Georgia, Head of sub-faculty of Designing of Artistic Fabrics, Tina Kldiashvili. Guided by the traditional technology of handmade production “Teka”, the author had inculcated her exclusive method into the production of fabrics that defined the creation of absolutely new type of textile “Synthesized Teka”. Creation of the new type of fabric has broadened the range of its utilization. Texture, very plastic in treatment, embossed poly-textual surface, and ecologically clean handmade fabric represent splendid base for creation of collection of season clothes, shoes, accessories, artistic panel, designing objects, concrete artistic illuminating objects, made in metal.
David Monavardisashvili’s works (sculptural things, made in metal and also decorated by exclusive fabrics, created by Tina Kldiashvili) are displayed in the gallery as well. This tandem – metal with thin, transparent, relief fabric – creates interesting artistic image. Tina Kldiashvili works over the winter collection that is absolutely adequate to fur things. The essence of the concept is a desire to consolidate fur things without using violence over the animals. Several experimental versions were presented in the following exhibitions: USA – Boston, Austria, Tbilisi. They have drawn a huge interest. Fur-coats from “Teka” have also heat characteristics, identical to visually various sorts of furs; they are health-giving, cheap and what is more important, they assist to keep fur-bearing animals alive.
Tina Kldiashvili is not only the author of artistic fabrics, but a designer of clothes. Peculiarity of designing decision of artist is a method of least interference into the structure of fabric by scissors.
The model’s construction for outlining artistic value of picture and silhouette’s lines, is made on the mannequin by several necessary manipulations that attach special unrepeated elegance to clothes.
Gallery has its own studio and a workshop, where studies of “Teka” technology, water-colors, tapestry, ceramics, and skills of composition are conducted. Tina Kldiashvili’s works were displayed in Bulgaria, Austria, Norway and USA. Boston site wwwGalerieSwanstrom.com allotted her a page, where you can introduce yourself with the artist’s works, presented during “Express Fashion” exhibition.
We can definitely assert that Tina Kldiashvili has established her own school; her pupils actively work in this sphere and create highly artistic production.
